What was done?
Positive Pay Data Used in TrueChecks Portal
Positive Pay Exception data will now be returned during a TrueChecks Portal check search for applicable clients with a Positive Pay Integration license. This is currently only available for TrueChecks check search with the Portal; This functionality will be added to Batch and API check queries in subsequent releases.
When a financial institution searches TrueChecks with an on-us or transit check, Positive Pay data is now leveraged to determine if the check was written by a Business Client that's enrolled in Positive Pay, determine if the check matches an Issued Check in Positive Pay, and if any Exceptions are generated.
Positive Pay Exceptions will influence the TrueChecks Recommended Action.
There will be no changes to TrueChecks Recommended Actions if:
• The FI is not enabled in the Positive Pay Integration,
• The Business Client is not enrolled in Positive Pay, or
• The presented check does match an Issued Check with no Exceptions in Positive Pay.
If the presented check for a Positive Pay-enrolled Business Client doesn’t match an Issued Check in Positive Pay, or if the presented check matches an Issued Check with Positive Pay Exceptions, the TrueChecks Recommended Actions will be altered to reflect the data found in Positive Pay.
The TrueChecks recommendations for Positive Pay Exceptions are as follows:
| Positive Pay Exception | TrueChecks Recommendation |
| Exact Match | None |
| Check Not Found | Hold |
| Check # Out of Range | Hold |
| Void or Stopped Check | Deny |
| Wrong Amount | Deny |
| Wrong Date | Hold |
| Stale Date | Deny |
| Over Limit | Deny |
| Duplicate Presented Check | Deny |
| Wrong Payee | Deny |
| Routing # Not Found | None |
| Account # Not Found | None |
| Check # Not Found | None |
| Under Limit | Deny |
| Missing Payee | None |
| Invalid Presented Date | Hold |
| Reverse Positive Pay | None |
