When submitting your files to TrueACH, you can either send a standard NACHA file, a custom file or both. If you elect to send a custom file, you will need to first add the file format to the TrueACH portal.
To do this, please note that you must have the ClientAdmin role assigned to you.
From the TrueACH portal, click on Settings > File Formats and then + Add New File Format
In the File Format box. there are four options:
Name- This is how TrueACH will identify the file format and not the file itself.
Delimiter – Please select Comma, Semicolon, or Pipe. Comma-delimited is the most common.
Description – This is helpful if you plan on creating multiple custom file formats. This is an optional field.
Header Line – This is where the headers will go in the exact order that the file will be generated. Place the chosen delimiter between each header without a space. Do not place a delimiter after the last header item.
The next Section contains the required fields. The following fields must be included in the custom file:
Account Number, SEC Code, and Trans Code.
You are welcome to add as many additional fields as you like as long as the required fields are included. Please be sure to map the required fields to their corresponding lookup.
Lastly, there is the optional fields column. You may want to add more than the required fields to your header. Once the header is added, the optional fields will be available for mapping. Please be sure to map the optional fields to their corresponding lookup.
Once your custom file is complete, please be sure to save your file format.
Note that this can be edited at any time, you will not need to start over for modifications.
