Fixed-Length file format support
Positive Pay now supports Fixed-Length file formats in addition to the existing Delimited and Excel formats. Financial Institutions can configure Fixed-Length formats for Issued Checks, Presented Checks, ACH files, Billing Reports, and Decision Files. Business Clients can also configure and upload their own Fixed-Length Issued Check files.
How do I use this?
- Navigate to File Formats, Billing Reports, or Decision Files Administration, depending on the type of file you want to configure.
- Select Fixed Length from the Format Type dropdown.
- Configure field order, field lengths, sorting rules, and naming conventions as needed.
- Configure report delivery schedules as needed for Billing Reports.
- Save the configuration.
No action required unless you'd like to use Fixed-Length files. FI and Business Client users can configure this anytime from File Formats, Billing Reports, or Decision Files Administration.
BENEFIT: Greater flexibility when exchanging data with core banking platforms and downstream systems, with less need for manual file manipulation and custom formatting processes.
Improved File Format Administration
File Format Administration has been streamlined with standardized configuration screens, improved format-type selection, customizable file naming conventions, configurable report delivery schedules, and a more streamlined Fixed-Length configuration experience.
No action required. These improvements apply automatically across File Formats, Billing Reports, and Decision Files Administration.
BENEFIT: Simplifies file configuration and administration across Positive Pay.
Configurable file and data retention
Positive Pay now offers configurable retention settings that control how long uploaded files and Positive Pay data remain available in the system.
File Retention determines how long uploaded files remain available: Disabled, 5 days, 15 days, 30 days (default), or 60 days.
Data Retention determines how long Positive Pay data remains available: Disabled (default), 6 months, 1 year, 2 years, or 3 years.
These settings are configured on behalf of your institution. If you'd like to adjust your File Retention or Data Retention settings, reach out to your AFS representative.
BENEFIT: Greater flexibility to manage how long uploaded files and Positive Pay data are retained, helping reduce unnecessary stored data while supporting each institution's operational needs.
